Is this your first ski tour outing?

How about getting off the slopes, entering the wilderness and discovering the pleasures  of descending down to the town from untouched slopes?

This exquisite ski tour/hike leads you on the western slope of the resort where you will discover new scenery and landscapes. Far away from the regular slopes, you will cross forests, visit small valleys, be inspired by intense peaks and descend on untouched slopes.

With this esf experience you are in good hands and will learn added techniques.
The main objective is technique and of course, your pleasure!

Your initiation programme details:

The success of this trip will depend on weather conditions.
If conditions require adjustments or suspension of this programme we will notify you the day before.
The Morning

  • Meet at 9am at the esf Grandes Rousses.
  • Safety is a priority! Distribution of your safety equipment is issued before departure and we prepare for the excursion looking at snow and weather conditions etc...
  • Departure at 9.15am in the direction of the valley of Le Coqs.
  • An easy first crossing through the forest will then lead us to the summit of the Bras.
  • We then rejoin the Radar and continue on the Sovereign coasts to the summit of the Signal, at 2115m.
  • We descend back to the esf chalet for noon.

Provisions supplied

  • Security kit (bag, shovel, DVA, radio)

You bring

  • Ski Touring skis and seal skins (easily hired at most sports hire shops)
  • Helmet
  • Water
