THE 'INITIATION' - First Time Hike/Ski Tour
- Takes place in the morning
- 3 hour duration (approx)
- Difficulty Level: 1/5 
This exquisite ski tour/hike leads you on the western slope of the resort where you will discover new scenery and landscapes. Far away from the slopes you will cross forests, visit small valleys, be inspired by intense peaks and descend on untouched slopes.

With this ESF experience you are in good hands and will learn added techniques. The main objective is your pleasure.

Your 'INITIATION' programme details:
The success of this trip will depend on weather conditions. If conditions require adjustments or suspension of this program we will notify you the day before.
The Morning
  • Meet at 9am at the ESF Grandes Rousses.
  • Safety is a top priority, a small point before departure to prepare your route: snow conditions, weather and delivery of your kit.
  • Departure at 9.15am in the direction of the valley of the Coqs.
  • An easy first crossing in the forest, leads us to the summit of the Bras.
  • We then rejoin the Radar and continue on the Sovereign coasts to the summit of the Signal, at 2115m.
  • We descend back to the chalet of ESF for noon.

Provisions supplied:
  • Security kit (bag, shovel, DVA, radio)
For you to bring:
  • Off Piste Skis and Seal Skins (easily hired at most ski hire shops or the possibility to reserve your equipment via ESF)
  • Helmet
  • Water

Do the ESF guide you and do you need to be experienced in ski touring?
Yes. We will take you to places of beauty and guide you around in the 3 hours. You do not have to be an expert skier, however, you need to be a competent and confident skier.
