Advice for parents
When you come to spend your holiday in the mountains, in the resort of Alpe d'Huez, it is at altitude, so you must take certain criterion into account:

  • Dress your child warmly, layers are a good idea! Even if the weather is very nice, the weather in the mountains can change quickly. Always inquire about the weather forecast!
  • Equipment to bring: ski or snowboard, helmet, goggles, also consider sunscreen with a high protection factor!
  • Rent your equipment from specialists! If you have your own, have your equipment checked and adjusted by a professional in order to be safe and have all the assets required to fully enjoy your stay.
  • Remember to put a small snack in your child's pocket!

Don't forget to tell our instructors any information about your child that you think is useful!

Frequently asked questions:
I am not sure of my child's level. Which lesson's should I enroll them in?
Our instructors always carry out a small evaluation on the first day to verify that all the children are registered in the correct level. If ever your child is not registered in the correct group, we will switch them to the correct group. You can also view the useful videos on our website to get a better knowledge of levels.

I have only booked half-day lessons. Is my lift pass valid for the rest of the day outside of my lesson time?
Yes, whether it is the Initiation package or the Progression package, your lift pass is valid all day for 6 days.

What do I do if I am late to pick up my child?
If you are ever late to pick up your child at the end of their lesson, please let us know by phone and we will have them wait in our offices with our hostesses. That is to say in the ESF Chalet of Grandes Rousses or in the ESF office of Bergers depending on the meeting point and departure area of the lesson.

How many children are there per class?
New this season, all our groups are now limited to 10 students.

What if I forgot my child's score card?
Our instructors will be happy to give him a new one when the medals are awarded.

Do you provide ski equipment?
No, we don't take care of the hardware. The resort's sports shops are there for this, and they will advise you on the choice of equipment according to the levels and desires of each. Let the professionals guide you!

I will only be there for 5 days, is the price of the group lessons cheaper than the 6-day card?
Whether for 5 or 6 days, the price is the same since it is a package. Indeed, if you only take 3 days it will be 3 times the  single unit rate, on the other hand, from 4 days, it will cost you more than the weekly rate.

Do I need to book in advance, or will there be still room when we arrive?
We strongly recommend that you book, especially if you are coming during school holidays. Indeed, these are very busy periods, and we try to satisfy our customers as much as possible, but when all our instructors have been allocated and we no longer have any availability, we must therefore stop selling lessons.

I oen a property in Alpe d'Huez, am I entitled to any reduction on my lessons?
Membership of the APACH Association can give you a number of advantages. For more information, contact them directly on 04 78 85 58 17, or via email: apach.huez@laposte.net.

Am I insured with my bank or credit card?
